About the Books
In 2340, the Earth is dying. The Free Bloc creates a spaceship from an asteroid with living spaces inside it to protect 3,000 handpicked humans on their journey to an exoplanet. The “ship” is powered by ion engines utilizing fuel from xenon ions produced in a nuclear reactor. This allows the ship to continuously accelerate. The constant acceleration allows the crew to experience gravity during their journey.
As they leave the asteroid belt they receive a message from aliens in the Cervantes star system who call themselves “The Mothers”. The aliens invite them to change their destination and settle a planet near them to be called Terra Nova. As they journey, an alien called “Eve of Eden”, the Mother of the Earth, appears in a dream to a ten year old girl on the ship, Terra Nova Winstead. Terra is told she possesses the “gifts of The Mothers” and will be “Mother” of the new world. The journey to the Cervantes system is full of surprises and danger. Book One ends with their arrival at Terra Nova where the crew is told they will help develop an “intelligent and virtuous species” as was done on the Earth many millennia earlier.
Chronicles of the Gods: Book One
Chronicles of the Gods: Book Two continues the story of the Calypso crew after they reach Terra Nova, the new world. Shortly after arriving at Terra Nova the Calypso returns to the Mars colony and Earth to rescue survivors and take them to Terra Nova. Before they reach Earth and Mars, they pass through a large spacetime wrinkle and visit an alternate Earth in a different universe where they receive important assistance so they can evade the enemies of the Mothers, the AOW, and return safely to Terra Nova. Their return to Terra Nova results in members of Terra’ s family being reunited with her.
Terra’s saga continues as she is forced into a marriage with a powerful Terran leader. In time she grows to love her new husband but she still wants to be with Hatcher her first love. Eventually she gains the opportunity to have both of her husbands, but tragedy eventually strikes and shatters her happiness. Terra’s personal tragedies and triumphs continue and culminates with an incredible miracle she performs to save the Terran people after which she is viewed as “the Goddess of Terra Nova”.
